Michael Kirkpatrick is best known as Telluride Troubadour, and ringleader of Holler!ween–a Northern Colorado music festival in its 20th year. The Singer-Songwriter/Mandolin player’s sonic affair with music has brought his rich baritone into Folk clubs, Rock’n’Roll venues, Bluegrass Festivals and even The Santa Fe Opera. For 20 years, Michael toured extensively as a Soloist and a member of The Holler!, The Good Time Travelers and The Littlest Birds. His blitz as a road warrior came to a halt in July of 2019 when a failed landing on stage at Northwest String Summit in Oregon blew out his left knee. After canceling 5 months of gigs, enjoying surgery, physical therapy, making secret plans and writing songs, Michael was ready to return to the road in March of 2020…and then COVID hit. Now, after a 2 years hibernation, Michael is back on the road playing his songs and assembling “a really cool band” and “working on a new bio”.
Michael’s 2013 album KEY TO MY CAGE was awarded “Best Colorado Folk/Singer-Songwriter Album of 2013” by The Colorado Sound Fan Poll. Michael has been named “Best Male Singer-Songwriter” by the Fort Collins Musicians Association six years in a row (2013-2018) and in 2019 was awarded FoCoMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. in 2014, he was crowned Telluride Troubadour. His 2015 release HONEY RIDER earned a spot in the Colorado Sounds Top 50 albums of 2015. 2015 also saw the release of THE GOOD TIME TRAVELERS, which has earned the duo performance slots at festivals all over the West. In 2017, Michael released The Holler!’s WILDWOOD and his 3rd Solo album LITTLE MUSE. 2018 saw The Good Time Travelers sophomore release: MOUNTAIN SONG. For 2022, Michael will be diving into his next solo release and a debut album by post-ronassance rock band Violet Pilot.
